初めての、１／４８のソ連機の完成品である。キットとしては、バンダイ・モノグラムのＭＩＧ−１５が、最初に買った１／４８のソ連機であるが。
タミヤの社長さんから聞いた話だと、米国（だったと思う）で実機の剥き出しになったエンジンを見て、キット化を決めたらしい。
ギミックのある割には、スラスラと組めてしまうキット。
あーだこーだ言わずに、数を揃えたいキットと見た。（飾る場所が広ければ）

This is my first model of Russian aircraft in 1/48 scale.Although DANDAI-Monogram
MIG-15 is the first Russian aircraft kit I purchased.
I heard from Mr. Syunsaku Tamiya the president of a TAMIYA at Shizuoka
Hobby Show that he decided MIG-15 into TAMIYA 1/48 series when he saw the
uncoverd Klimov VK-1 engine at the Airport in the U.S.A.
It is easy to assembly kit eve has a gimmicks.
It seemes me this kit is for mass production rather than detail work.
