スピットファイアは好きなので、今までにも結構買ったり、組み立てたりしていた。一番大きかったのは、プラモデルではなく、Ｒ／Ｃのスケール機だった。
自分で作った、スピットが自由自在に飛ぶのを夢見て作り出したが、肝心のＲ／Ｃの飛行がぜんぜん上達せず（今思えば近視で機体がよく見えていなかった）、工作のほうも、初めての製作で、翼の前縁が角張っていたりと、とても飛びそうになかった。
結局、機体に絹を貼り、インベンジョン・ストライプを翼に巻いた姿で、ごみ捨て場に行ってしまった。
その後、タミヤの電動ラジコン・カーを経験したが、何回か遊んでいるうちに、ある程度コントロールできるようになった。
まず地上のものから入れば良かったかも。
今ではＲ／Ｃは全然やらないが、私に教えてくれた、高校／会社の先輩は、数年前に退職し伊勢原でクラフト２１という、Ｒ／Ｃ主体の模型店を開業した。
前置きが長くなったが、このキットは発売されてすぐに作った。とても組み立てやすい良いキットであったが、デカールの厚さには閉口してしまった。
ハセガワのデカールでさえ、厚いと感じていたのに（そりゃ 別売りデカールと比べる私も悪いが）。
通常のデカールの上に、半艶消しクリアーがかけてある様に思えた。
その後の模型雑誌の記事で、機銃の銃身のことなど注意点等載っていたが、そのままにしてある。
そのうち、あと何機か作ってみるつもりではある。
As I like spitfire ,so far I purchased and assembled many of them. My largest
model of a spitfire was R/C scale plane not plastic model.
Although I started assembling with dream that my spitfire model
flys in the sky with freedom, I couldn't made progress in R/C technique(I
couldn't see
a plane since myopia) and it seemed not fly because of the poor first time
assemble such as non smooth rounded leading edge.
After appled silk and painted invension stripes, I thrown it away.
I experienced TAMIYA electric R/C car later, I could control the car after
several times. I had better start with "ground" things.
Although no more R/C in this time, My R/C instructor started R/C shop CRAFT21
in Isehara city after retirement.
Long preface, I assembled this kit soon after released. It was good kit
with very easy to assemble, however decal was so thick and I hate it.
Even Hasegawa kit decal is thick I think (compare
with after market decal though).
I suppose semi gloss clear cote over the decals.
After completed this model I read some kit review in a model magazine and it said that barrel
of the outer machine gun had to be deleted etc. but I did
nothing.
I will make more.
